Busy much??

It has been 100 years since my last post.  I am always going from sun up to sun down, but have managed to find a few minutes to update all of my readers on the happenings in my life.  I am exhausted, so this may be random and rambling...

For those of you who didn't know, about 6 weeks ago I flew to San Francisco for a job interview.  I had managers from our corporate Real Estate department visit my store, and after meeting me, they asked if I'd be interested in interviewing for a position in their department.  Uh...YEAH!  It was a crazy lengthy process (3 phone interviews prior to my trip down there for a day at our corporate offices, interviewing with 4 people).  It was super fun, and I was really excited for the opportunity.  Well, needless to say, I totally got my hopes up, and I didn't get the position.  2 days after I found out, while I was officially throwing a pity party, I had to fly to Phoenix with my happy face on for my brother's wedding....:)  Why is it when you are depressed and see your Mom and Dad, tears come bursting out of your eyeballs??  Thanks again Mom and Dad for helping me out of my death spiral...

Matt and Amber got married on July 19th and it was such a great time!  It was just the distraction I needed, and I was so glad to see my family and friends from Utah.  One of the things I have such a hard time wrapping my mind around is that my brother is a grown-up.  He is the head of a household.  In the few days I was there though, I quickly observed what a great husband he will be.  He takes such good care of Amber, and makes her feel so special.  He works really hard to ensure they will have a nice place to live, and a Christian focus in their home.  He makes her laugh, and helps her calm down when she's overwhelmed.  I am so proud of them, and I am so excited to have Amber in our family.  Funny side note...Matt's friends made him dress up like Batman for his Bachelor party (like the Halloween costume version from when you were 8 - complete with wings and pointy ears) and made him walk around a mall and eat at a crowded restaurant...hilarious!  (Further explanation is probably needed; it was the day the "Dark Knight" came out). More pictures to come....I'm waiting on a certain someone.  (Mom, if you're reading, this means you.)

When I got back to work, I quickly had a conversation with my boss stating I needed more projects.  Things at my store are going great, and I'm ready for more! Well...you've probably already finished my next sentence.  Be careful what you wish for.  1 of my peers is out on Maternity leave through September, and the store manager from Gap Kids at my mall is on vacation, therefor I get to juggle 3 stores:)  Although it is crazy at times, it is super fun too.  I really enjoy meeting other people that work for our company, and trying to make them feel valued for what they contribute to their stores.    On the side, I've also begun to sell Mortgage Protection Insurance with my friend Summer.  Basically, insurance that pays off the balance of your mortgage in the event of death, leaving other family without the burden of a monthly payment on 1 less income.  We are learning a lot on this new business venture, and so far are having a lot of success.  I am totally thankful for the opportunity to learn something new, and it doesn't hurt that I'm making money while I'm doing it:)

What is to come?  Well, tomorrow is shopping with friends after work, and perhaps the drive-in on Friday. This weekend I have a bridal shower Saturday, and I'm going to a Kellie Pickler concert on Sunday.  Next week my friends and I are going to an outdoor movie in the park Wednesday night, a Birthday party Thursday night, and a Bachelorette party on Saturday.  Friday the 22nd we are volunteering at a house in the area for young single moms in need, and Saturday the 23rd is brunch and a trip to the beach.  Camille is coming for a visit in early September, and my Mom is coming on the 19th. That weekend we're going to the state fair, and to see Carrie Underwood in concert!  And the most exciting thing I'm looking forward too???MEXICO!  That's right, I'm going on vacation for my Birthday to Acapulco!  My friend Sarah has a Birthday 5 days before me, and we are going with 2 other girls to an amazing resort by the ocean.  I'm soooo excited!  This calls for a count-down on the blog...

Well, I'm off to bed.  My eyelids are shutting and will not allow me to type any longer.
Buenos Noches....gotta practice the Spanish:)

Your life is so crazy fun! I love to be busy too (usually). It allows you at the end of the day to look back and realize you actually accomplished something that day. And, hello Mexico. Maybe someday I'll be lounging on the beach . . . you'll have to soak in some sun for me while we're celebrating Halloween and it's probably snowing. I'm so excited for you!

In my defense--I don't have pictures of Matt dressed at batman. They are on Brian Nation's cell phone. Trying to get him to send them to me but no luck so far! Maybe Matt has some.
